Celebrating Cultures With Wholesome and Inclusive Food Options

Our Story

'Melhor,’ meaning ‘better,’ is the philosophy that we stand by. It structures every dish we produce and drives us to find better ways in everything we do.

Inspired by fast-paced, casual sit-down restaurants and a celebration of Portuguese and Indian food, Vasco’s formed into a reality. We set out to create a unique way of eating. bringing the fresh, nourishing, flavors of Portuguese with a twist of Indian to all.

Even though Peri Peri chicken is a traditional Portuguese dish,

Its main ingredient, African bird's eye chili aka Peri Peri was actually originated from Mozambique in Africa, and was imported to Portugal.

In the name of melhor,
our standards are high.

Our chicken and lamb are marinated for 24 hours and are cooked fresh, served fresh. Each plate and bowl that we fill, we ensure it’s like our first. The colors and aromas, flavors, and spices are always at their best when they touch your table. Vasco’s is a staple of modern Portuguese cuisine.

Vegan

Eating less meat and dairy has been seen to be the most necessary step you can personally take, to reduce carbon emissions. In light of this, we’ve created a huge variety of vegan options for our menu, to tempt even the biggest meat lovers to choose vegan from time to time.

Our Peri Peri sauces are now vegan, meaning anyone can experience our amazing flavors and spices no matter what they decide to eat.

Sustainability

We are working hard to improve being a sustainable company, as it’s the right thing to do. For our wonderful customers, employees, partners, and of course for our planet.

Climate change is a very real and severe issue, and we fully recognize that we need to be part of the solution. We strive in conducting business correctly and sensibly, ensuring what we do within the company helps to reduce any impact we have on society and the environment. We are aware this is a long journey and are moving in the right direction, and we’re working hard to get better and raise standards wherever we can. Here are some of the ways we’re making a difference by doing the right thing.

Packaging

Our takeout bags are made from 100% recycled paper. The remaining majority of our takeout packaging are made from 100% recycled paper with a thin plastic lining to aid in keeping the food’s quality intact.

Plastic

Plastic is an incredibly complex matter and one that we are eager to tackle as best we can... We have moved away from normal plastic straws and introduced biodegradable straws for our customers. Any plastics we use for packaging are 100% recyclable but are constantly looking for alternatives where possible.
